Re: SmackDown! HBK vs. Rey Mysterio

Why, why, WHY is Chris Jericho losing to R-Truth?

And no tag match between DX and SES, huh? I guess that Haitch wants to hang onto his accessories a little while longer. Why? Only Haitch knows. It won't be long before they abolish the tag titles all together - they're worthless.

Re: SmackDown! HBK vs. Rey Mysterio

a loss for Jericho right now won't hurt him.  I don't mind the role he has right now, which is to help elevate others around him.  Its funny, that if he were to win every match, like say Cena or HHH does, he would get roasted for that.  A loss for Killings keeps him buried, and WWE doesn't need any more wrestlers buried.

as far as no tag match for Dx...that match will happen, and HOPEFULLY Dx loses them.  I didn't agree with them taking the titles anyway...I don't think its right for someone like HBK with a "limited schedule" to hold a title.  all title holders should do the house shows IMO.

that McCool vs "Piggie James" segment was one of the worst segments of wrestling I have seen in a long long time...and that includes evry bit of the Hornswaggle v Chavo feud.  Its disgusting IMO, that they put Mickie in this story just because she is not a toothpick.

HBK v Rey was a very good match..I was hoping for a little better, but it stil wasn't bad.  Saw they did the same springboard into superkick move that HBK and Benjamin did.  Too bad there couldn't be a clean finish.

McIntyre v Morrison was an awesome match.  I guess that takes Morrison out of the running for that title

Re: SmackDown! HBK vs. Rey Mysterio

Like I said in another thread, Jericho is on the polar opposite end of the Hogan and Friends spectrum. He doesn't even hesistate when he's told to put somebody over but I don't necessarily agree that it doesn't hurt him. Long time fans know his history but to newer fans or kids he's just some loser that goes out and claims to be the best but loses all the time. His words and boasts have been hollow for a long time.

I don't understand the rationale behind putting somebody like R-Truth over anyway. Truth's gimmick sucks and has no long term staying power. He's a caricature.

I wish that the WWE understood how to build strong bad guys - it's long been a problem in the organization.

The tag match is at the Rumble? Seems odd with all of those guys also in the Rumble match itself.

no..I was wrong...that tag match is not at the Rumble..I just thought it was.  with that whole "number 1 contenders match" they had and all.  Being in the rumble match itself hasn't stopped people from pulling double duty and having another match on the card before.

anyway..back to Y2J...it wasn't long ago at all that he was the heavyweight champ..he cemented his legacy as a top star.  like I said, a loss on SD won't really hurt him any.

Jericho is spinning his tires right now and he doesn't seem to care. He needs to take another Fozzy tour break.

Re: SmackDown! HBK vs. Rey Mysterio

Jericho had a win over Morrison on last week's smackdown didn't he?

I think they give him just enough wins to make him seem like a credible threat, but the last feud that he went over on was HBK I think, now that I think about it. His role is good for someone in his position - a strong heel to help put over some new faces and give some credibility to newer heels.
