Schneider sharp as Canucks surge past Wild

Corey Schneider made 22 saves to lead Vancouver past the sputtering Minnesota Wild 4-1, the fourth straight win for the Canucks.

It's kinda hard to tell if the Nucks were unstoppable or Minny was just horrible. In any case 200+ Million = no guaranteed cup

So now we can go back to the trade Luongo rumours?  That's how this works, right?

Well played game for Canucks ,was never in doubt.  Schneider had help in front for a change. Konopka the goon was embarassment for the Wild they should get rid of him.

IF they were to select the Olympic teams tomorrow.....Luongo would start for Canada and Schneider for the USA.      How is that controversy???

not so fast, we have to play a few rounds of "which goalie starts the next game" first

If this was a full-length season, Raymond would be on pace for 30 goals.  And just like his last 'big season', he's in the last year of a contract.  Coincidence?

Don and Gary always talk about Raymond and how he is playing this year, and what they say is that he was probably still recovering from him back injury last year. So with all the time off he had from from the NHL he is probably back to what he was before he got injured, which is a nice sign if he keeps it up and the Canucks sign him again.. that theory does make sense because he had a brutal injury and last year was a contract year for him as well and he did terrible. He probably just needed the extra time to heal.

How come Minny is not in a goalie controversy.?     they seem to be playing a 2 goalie system that is merit based and the job gets lost or not on performance.

As to Raymonds resurgence, he is healthy again after having his spine broke by Colin Campbells, boy's teammate.       Boychuck should still be suspended for that, but then again so should have Chara.

I'm not sure having to pull the goalie is a two goalie system

Re: Schneider sharp as Canucks surge past Wild

@mustaschOfCheech bit of both. Nucks are starting to get on a roll and well Minny is that bad. But thats what happens when you overpay for 2 overrated players. Suter looked good in Nashville only because of the defensive system and his partner was Weber. Paying Parise (while a decent 30g man) like he can carry your team is a joke, hes no Geno.

Schnieder had to be sharp otherwise he would have found himself right back on the bench watching Luongo, the back up goalie, taking his place. Guess he could spend his bench time counting the 4 million a year that he is being paid but not earning.

that doesn't explain why he sucked for the entire season before getting injured, when he was completely healthy...don't get me wrong, I'm glad his career isn't over, but it really looks like he doesn't put in the same level of effort if he's not in a contract year.

Doesn't matter if the Canucks trade Luongo or Schneider.  Either way, they will get assets in return and they have a no. 1 goalie for some time.
