Komarov - a tougher Rickard Wallin?

Heard Brady say this on the Fan this morning

Fair comment? Too early to tell? Way off base?

Ha thought the same thing the other day....at least Komarov brings energy to the lineup...I am sure he will manage to outscore Wallin when it is all said and done.

Wallin 60GP (2G, 7A)

I would say perhaps a Kulemin Lite.

Really happy with his tenacious work in the boards, this guy is always hustling and one of the hardest workers on the team.  He plays bigger than his size, was surprised to see him listed at 5-10" 187lbs.

He throws really odd bodychecks ... like it almost looks as if he is just throwing his body at the guy. Could potentially lead to down penalties down the road from arms flopping around

Re: Komarov - a tougher Rickard Wallin?

Not even close.

Komarov can actually skate, has good awareness and works really hard, not to mention that he loves to play physical. He was leading the league in hits but now is only 2 hits back.

Wallin could barely keep up a regular shift most of the time.

He won't score a bunch of points but could doesn't look out of place on the third line, or even on the 2nd PP because of his willingness to be infront of the net.

Seriously? Haha

Like SprDave said, Komarov is amongst the league leaders in hits. Very telling stat of how he plays.

Let me think, Komarov against the Bruins or Wallin lol

Once again the cavallry riding to the rescue and misconstruing the Brady comments..........He said a tough version of Wallin, not that he was Wallin. He is giving him credit as being a better player than Wallin.

Personally I still disagree with Brady as the 2 players are not similar in any way. Komarov has been a decent addition----not sure he is going to rack up many points but nice energy player.

Unless Braidy talking about another Wallin that comment  is confusing to me...Komarov has been working his butt off on the ice from game one..Not sure the guy  gonna get a whole lot of points but he hits everything that moves and has been solid in both ends of the rink in every game i have seen him play..

Imo he's a guy u could play on any of the 4 forward lines if need be...

Not even a remotely good comparison.  Yes Komarov is tougher than Wallin, but he is also better in every aspect of the game.  Komarov does a lot for this team.  The whole team hits a lot more when we're playing good compared to last year, and guys like Komarov, Brown and McClement lead the way.  In case no one noticed we are second in the league in hits so far this year.

Meh....Brady is one of those guys that likes to think he is smarter then most people. He takes the name of a certain old leaf player that most have forgotten about and tries to compare a current player to him to try and prove that the current Leaf player is really not as good as people think. I have heard him do this a few times now and find it tiresome.

So you agree with me?

Why are you defending this guy like I insulted your brother or something?

I didn't even insult him at all actually, just think it was a poor comparison, Komarov has been more valuable to us after 10 games then Wallin was in a whole season.

Not sure I get the cavalry riding to the rescue comment, especially since you agree with me.

Lighten up man
