Did Chris Campoli's involvement in CBA negotiations contribute to his inability to land a new NHL contract? Have your say here.
His outspoken nature during the lockout probably isn't helping his chances of landing a contract, but he's a journeyman anyway, and it was never a guarantee that he would find another NHL contract.
yes, truly appauling
No. He's just not very good.
I am with Oldschool. I think the fact that he sucks has most to do with it.
no maybe the Islanders are thinking of signing him after the trade for Thomas
If he was good enough, he'd be in the NHL.
Chelios practically threatened Bettmans life. But he was good, so no problem. He still signed a couple of more contracts in the NHL.
I don't think a GM would pass on a guy because he spoke out if he could help the team, if they did it would make them look pretty stupid.
meh. he just wasn't that good. but certainly his stance can't help his cause. what can you do really?
You are right (sarcasm)! We all should teach our children to always shut up and never use their freedom of speech right and they should never express their opinions. The interesting thing is that most pro-Bettman fans were claiming that the union was negotiating in the interest of the stars only but when a guy like Campoli is involved, they say that a fringe player should not have involved himself in a CBA negotiation.
If he was a good player, he would have a contract. Because he is a fringe player, teams will get other fringe players that are not so union focused. The teams would put up with his beliefs if he was a Norris winner... no reason to put up with it on a fringe player.
Maybe appalling... but really we'd all do the same for our own business.
I would figure the fact that he is a terrible nhl player would have more to do with him not getting a contract. Much ado about nothing
It is a very small minded owner who will not give a player a job for his on ice abilities.
He should be at the top of the list.
Looks and talks like a real leader to me.
I would hire him and give him a letter an A captain for sure.
