Re: The Armchair Coach at it Again...
It's like watching Mike Milbury on NBC talk about how a team got shafted in a trade at trade deadline

Always about the covering the points bs. Teams do cover points, but they cheat on the forwards more often because in this day an age players block point shots better than ever, and forwards 3 on 3 can cycle around eachother because players are more skilled and smart.

You are absolutely right. We should definitely ignore his opinion, but highly value that of the "geniuses" who are anonymous but have the ability to post their significant "knowledge: from the safety of their 200 square foot basement apartment despite never playing hockey above junior "b" level (if that) and never having any coaching experience makes sense to me

I think Cherry is both overrated (by himself, mostly, lol), and underrated by his detractors. He's a knowledgeable hockey guy, imo, but that is often overshadowed by his ridiculous opinions on other subjects, such as European players, visors, ect...

sorry Limey - no offence intended to you. In fact, I frequently enjoy your posts and opinions. You must admit though, that these forums are full of people that make me shake my head so often that my neck hurts

I will put his 78 years of being in or around the game against your 15 years of disrespecting your elders if you don't mind .

Wow dislike Cherry if you want but to call him a crappy coach is completely ignorant. His was the best team to never win a cup and that is only because he had to face a dynastic Habs team. He was a Jack Adams trophy winner and coach of Canada's team in the 1976 Canada cup.
